The 2018 Cadillac XT5 has received an IIHS rating of Superior for rear crash prevention.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has launched a rear crash prevention ratings program that can help consumes identify vehicles with the technology that can prevent or mitigate low-speed backing crashes. The 2018 Cadillac XT5 has earned the highest rating of Superior when equipped with optional Driver Assist Package. The Driver Assist Package includes Reverse Automatic Braking and is only available on vehicles equipped with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Park Assis.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert

Using monitors to sense lane boundaries, Lane Keep Assist gently turns the steering wheel if the system anticipates the vehicle is leaving the lane unintentionally.
